Huskers making a push for ATH Cam Taylor

Huskers targeting ATH Cam Taylor as signing day approaches

As the 2018 recruiting cycle is entering its final frenzied lap the Huskers new staff continues to make headway with a number of different recruits. On Wednesday, coach Frost and defensive coordinator Erik Chinander stopped by to visit 2018 ATH Cam Taylor in his Alabama home and it made a big impact on him.

“He was real as ever and gave me the real deal on things and not the textbook things he’s supposed to tell me as a recruiter trying to get me to attend their school,” Taylor said.

With visits to Auburn and Troy already in the rearview, the Huskers are set to host Taylor over the weekend of the 26th and check out Missouri the following weekend. A one-time commit to the Tigers, Taylor said he was still close with their coaching staff and had a good relationship with coach Walters and Odom.

Taylor doesn’t have any plans to use his fifth and final visit but should another school enter the picture he is open to hearing what they have to say.

Once considered an Auburn lean, Taylor currently doesn’t hold a scholarship offer from Auburn which has left the door open for the Huskers to enter the picture late in the process.

An electric athlete, the Husker coaching staff was unique in their pitch for how they saw the talented athlete fitting in as they spoke to him about playing potentially on both sides of the field. Taylor could easily play either defensive back or wide receiver for the Huskers depending on their needs.

While the Huskers have made a big push, a late offer from Auburn would certainly give Cam Taylor something to consider as an in-state offer is always something to give careful consideration to.

“It would just make this decision a little hard but I don’t know right now”

Regardless of where he ends up, Taylor is looking at more than football when making his final decision. Having academic support in place to get a degree and knowing that he could attend a school without football are at the top of his priority list in making a decision.

“Really seeing if I can stay at the specific school without football. And academics have to be on point, I want to leave with a degree”

With only a few weeks to go, make sure you keep an eye on Cam Taylor as he looks to make a decision on where he will bring his talents closer to signing day.
